Why virtual care

Waiting weeks for a doctor shouldn't be normal

Most of Texas doesn't have enough primary care. 224 of the state's 254 counties are federally designated shortage areas for health professionals. That can mean weeks of waiting for a new-patient appointment, long drives to the nearest clinic, and rushed visits once you get there. Virtual care closes that distance.

Integrative direct primary care

Primary care where it's hardest to find

Permian Basin

Midland, Odessa and surrounding towns

Rapid growth in the Permian Basin has outpaced local health care, and many families wait weeks to be seen or drive hours for routine care. Across Midland, Odessa, Big Spring, Andrews, Monahans, Pecos and Fort Stockton, a primary care membership gives you one dedicated provider you can reach the same or next day, without leaving home or work.

  • Virtual primary and urgent care visits every month
  • Unlimited messaging with your provider
  • 100+ biomarkers tested twice a year, drawn locally
  • Blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid and cholesterol care
  • Hormone care, GLP-1s and men's health when appropriate

Southeast Texas

Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange and the Golden Triangle

Many Southeast Texas communities have too few primary care providers, and major storms strain the system further. From Beaumont to Nederland, Port Neches, Vidor, Lumberton and Jasper, membership primary care means a provider you can reach by video and message, however far the nearest clinic is.

  • Same- or next-day virtual visits, including sick visits
  • Unlimited messaging with your provider
  • Chronic disease, preventive and urgent care
  • Labs and imaging ordered to facilities near you
  • Mold illness care for homes affected by humidity and flooding

Questions

Virtual care FAQ

More answers about the practice are in the general FAQ.

Do I need to live near Austin?

No. Every service is available by secure video anywhere in Texas, including Midland, Odessa, Beaumont, Lubbock, Amarillo, San Angelo, El Paso, Tyler, Waco, Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. In-person visits are available in Austin if you prefer.

Do I need to be in Texas during my visit?

Yes. You need to be in Texas at the time of each video appointment.

Where do I get my labs drawn?

At a lab near you. Bloodwork can be drawn locally, many functional tests are done with at-home kits, and imaging such as X-ray, ultrasound, mammogram, CT and MRI is ordered to a facility in your area.

Can prescriptions go to my local pharmacy?

Yes. Prescriptions can go to your local pharmacy, a mail-order pharmacy or a cash-pay compounding pharmacy, and I'll help you find the most affordable option. I don't prescribe controlled substances such as opioids, sedatives or stimulant ADHD medications; testosterone is the one exception.

What if I need a hands-on exam?

Most primary care concerns can be handled safely by video. If you need hands-on care, imaging or labs, I'll refer you to a local facility. In an emergency, call 911.

Can I use my insurance?

Visits are cash-pay, which allows longer visits and faster access. You can use HSA or FSA funds, and your insurance can still cover outside labs, imaging and prescriptions.

How quickly can I be seen?

Primary care members can usually be seen the same or next day. For other services, start with a free 15-minute call and we'll find the next available appointment.
